12/03/05 - Club Event to Santa Maria

Our outing started with a festive breakfast, care of the Santa Maria Inn...

Much important "stuff" was discussed, as can be seen by Dan's hand signals,  before the waiter received his tip (at right), and then we were off!..

......to the parking lot, where amidst proprietal leaning-on of cars, humorous comments and mis-directions were exchanged before blasting off to our first stop at the Santa Maria Railroad Museum. - Unfortunately, we do not have images of the Museum at this time, there is a rumor the club photographer got lost (?) -  we then exited town, and cruised to our second drive stop........

....which was the beautiful Chapel of San Ramon.....

........where after some brief introspection,  it was noticed that the Church was most fortuitously positioned next to ......

....the Rancho Sisquoc winery!.......see the smiling faces!.........so a brief foray was organised......

Tom and Peter are seen gamely bidding for honours on the first round....

Here, the girls are seen after appreciating the Winery's offerings.........

We then moved on for a drive through to the Santa Inez area, and stopped at Fess Parker's Winery.....
..... where Club photo's were take, living proof that our beloved steeds had carried us so far....

Mis-direction again seemed indicated by the fact we ended up in a muddy vineyard several hundred yards from the winery's tasting room......

Never let it be said that an opportunity to taste and critique a winery be passed by, by the CCJDC!
This was accomplished with much fun, discussion and camaraderie, and then finally, with regret,  we parted until we meet again in the New Year!
